GFS completes Retro-Commissioning project at Ft. McNair

Posted on:

GFS completed an in-depth commissioning project at three buildings on the Ft. Lesley J. McNair Army Post in Washington DC.  The project was delivered under the Utility Energy Service Contract (UESC) agreement with Washington Gas Energy Systems.  GFS provided all on-site retro-commissioning labor to evaluate the operation of HVAC systems and HVAC controls within the three buildings.  The GFS scope of service included identification of all system related deficiencies that impact operation and energy performance.  GFS provided immediate corrections to specific low cost/no cost deficiencies such as thermostat calibration, VAV damper repairs and temperature set-point adjustment.  A complete list of repairs and energy conservation measures was also developed for implementation by Washington Gas Energy Systems under their UESC energy savings contract with the Federal Government.  During the RCx process, GFS identified energy conservation measures and other building upgrades that are estimated to produce $380,000 in annual utility savings for the Army once implemented.
